The Challenge:

Unlike traditional vial freeze drying, handling large quantities of lyophilized diagnostics such as lyobeads can be challenging. Poor mechanical properties and/or a lack of controlled conditions during the sealing of the container closure system and secondary packaging can result in inconsistencies in thermal stability and assay performance.
